Waterfalls of Ouzoud

The Waterfalls of Ouzoud, which are 110m (330 ft) high, are located near the village of Tanaghmeilt, in the High Atlas mountains, 150 km northeast of Marrakech.

The falls are surrounded by lush greenery making this a place of outstanding natural beauty. At the base of the falls are shady paths winding between olive trees.

Ouzoud means ‘the act of grinding grain’ in Berber and this is reinforced by the numerous mills in the region. Near the summit of the falls are several watermills, some of which are still working. We will pay a visit to one of these mills.

After our visit to the mill we will have a typical Berber lunch alongside these spectacular waterfalls and there will be plenty of time for taking photos of the area before we return to Marrakech.
